Sidney D. Rich has 40 years' experience in long-term care. Educated at the University of Texas at Austin, Rich was President and CEO of the Texas Nursing Home Association for more than 20 years, where he lobbied Congress and the Texas Legislature. He has authored federal legislation on eligibility and supplemental security income. He has also authored extensive Texas legislation including the Nursing Home Administrators Licensure Act, the Texas Register Act, and the Assisted Living Act. He has been active in the development and promulgation of regulations for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and retirement communities.
He was President of Granny and Gramps, a company that developed and managed assisted living facilities, and was Chairman of the Board of the Autumn Hills Corporation, which owned and operated a chain of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Greater Houston area.
